“Prayer is not the requesting of
God to alter His purpose or for Him to form a new one. Prayer is the
taking of an attitude of dependency upon God, the spreading of our need
before Him, the asking for those things which are in accordance with
His will, and therefore there is nothing whatever inconsistent between
Divine sovereignty and Christian prayer.” -A.W. Pink, “The
Sovereignty of God”
Throughout Church history, God’s people have gathered together to
earnestly seek the Father’s will in their lives through prayer.
Throughout the book of Acts, we see those who love, trust and follow
Jesus continually devoting themselves to prayer for the needs of the
community, for the courage and strength to follow Jesus in the face of
adversity, and to pray that the Spirit would continue to graciously
draw others to Himself through the Church. Please feel welcome to
gather with us as we pray following lunch from 2:00-3:00pm at the
portico office on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
If we can serve you through prayer, please contact us with your needs.
